I’m Abi, the artist and designer behind MadeWright.Studio. I’ve always been driven by a sense of wonder about the world around me and a curiosity to understand what makes things interesting, individual and full of character. I’m drawn to all sorts of things, from natural forms and intricate details to unusual materials, textures, patterns and objects. That sense of wonder is also at the heart of how I approach design. I’m interested in the character and intricacy that already exists in the world around us, and in finding ways to distil what I see into something people can connect with.

I want my work to capture some of the fascination I felt in the first place, whether that means translating a natural form into a pattern, exploring a shape through abstraction or bringing an idea to life through a handmade object. While the materials and methods I use may vary, my outlook and curiosity remain consistent. I see design as a way of paying attention, taking something that sparked my curiosity and turning it into something tangible, considered and uniquely my own.
